Master's Degree in Dental Education


In partnership with the University of the Pacific and ADEA, AAL presents the only Master’s program created for dental educators by experts in academic dentistry and adult education. Using the ADEA/AAL Institute for Teaching and Learning as its foundation, the Master’s curriculum is designed to be completed in ONE YEAR and is applicable to academic professionals in dentistry and dental hygiene, as well as private practice professionals transitioning to academia.

Program Highlights

  • A Certificate in Dental Education is awarded after completion of the first 6 academic credits
  • The program consists of three onsite sessions totaling 11 days in San Francisco at the University of the Pacific Dugoni School of Dentistry
  • Convenient online learning supplements onsite curriculum
  • Curriculum focuses on the three crucial elements of academe: teaching, research, and service
  • Non-thesis Master’s program
  • Research projects and all assignments are applicable to dental and dental hygiene education
  • Master’s degree is regionally and nationally accredited
